Submitted to Legislative Counsel, Jan. 25, 2008

Submitted to Legislative Counsel, Jan. 25, 2008
We submitted proposed changes to many sections of the Elections Code and proposed new sections. The proposals were arranged loosely in seven groups and submitted in .doc files. (The following are saved from .doc files as html, so the html formatting isn't ideal):

New systems - approval and security, 9 sections
 Ballots and counting, 6 sections
 Miscellaneous changes, 13 sections
 Voting despite problems, 4 sections
 Public, 2 sections
 Recounts, 9 sections
 Transparency, 21 sections

We are now rearranging and prioritizing the proposals, and looking for legislators to sponsor bills with these proposals. We have been told any bill involving increased costs will not pass this year, so some of the proposals will be dropped for now.
